What is barre54?
A unique exercise class that is designed to work every muscle in your body in under an hour. Using isometric exercises combined with a ballet barre, we are able to exhaust the muscle in a unique way.
How is barre54 unique?
Using the ballet barre for thigh, seat, and abdominal muscles, puts a different twist on using your own body weight for resistance. From pulling off the barre to utilizing it for balance, we are able to focus in on the muscles that we want to tone. After a core warm up, we use small weights to target bicep, tricep, shoulder, chest and back muscles. The focus then changes to thighs, abs and seat. Each area has a few exercises that target that specific area. After each one, we will stop and stretch to ensure that the muscle is lengthened. The conclusion of the class is 3 minutes of "back dancing" and then a cool down. barre54 classes will also raise the tempo of traditional barre workouts through high energy music to safely increase cardiovascular training.
What do I wear to class?
Yoga pants that come to the knee or longer and socks. We sell barre54 socks, but any yoga socks with treads will be fine.
How often should I attend a barre class?
We recommend taking a class 3 times per week. Students experiencing soreness are encouraged to attend class often, even on consecutive days.
How long will it take for my body to change?
If you are eating healthy and attending class 3 to 4 times per week, in 6 weeks time, you will notice your muscles change.
Why don't you have a beginner class?
Our instructors are trained with different levels in mind. They will offer suggestions for the beginner as well as the experienced barre student.
Why is it important for me to be there at the beginning of class?
The warm up is a vital part of the work out and if it is bypassed, injuries could occur.
